Directions

This natural therapeutic system combines the original formula and products created over 40 years ago. RESULTS: The proper application of each item helps to create healthy, beautiful nails that reflect a mirror-like shine.

The therapeutic system helps to...

  • Smooth the ridges in the nail
  • Remove stains
  • Stimulate growth and elasticity of the nail
  • Create a smooth base coat for application of nail polish

THE FUNCTION OF EACH PRODUCT IN THE SYSTEM

Hand-Crafted Suede Buffer

The soft suede buffer, in conjunction with a small amount of buffing creme, allows a gentle process to treat the nail, unlike other buffers on the market that literally removes a layer of the nail. The process of stoking the buffing creme onto the top of the nail and the bed of the the nail “feeds” the nail with nutrients rather than strips away a layer of the nail like other buffers. The buffer that is assembled by hand is designed to reach every part of the nail in one swoop, avoiding friction on the nail.

Buffer Maintenance

Never apply water to the buffer.
After the buffer dries, just scrape the excess creme off with the long edge of the spatula. NEVER use a metal instrument to clean the buffer. Be sure the excess has been removed before you buff again. If you lose the spatula, use a plastic knife or a clean discarded credit card to scrape the dried crème.

BUFFING CREME with Apricot Kernel Oil - 15ml/0.5 FL OZ.

The weekly nail care system combines the Original Hand-Crafted Suede Buffer and Nail Buffing Creme to create a natural look that will last a week. The system also smoothes ridges in the nails, removes stains, and stimulates nail growth.

When following directions for a weekly routine, the buffing crème should last at least six months.

  • To avoid transferring bacteria into the buffing creme, use the spatula to remove creme from the jar. Do not use your fingers.
  • Apply a small amount of the buffing creme to the top of each nail in a circular motion and underneath the nail for cleaning.
  • After cleaning your cuticle pusher with hot water, gently push the cuticle slightly with the cuticle pusher, allowing the base of this area to breathe. The health of the nail actually originates at the cuticle.
  • Buff each nail about 40-60 strokes in one direction.
  • Wash the hands and nail with a cloth to remove the excess buffing creme. The abrasive in the buffing creme, in conjunction with the buffing action, very gently wears away excessive cuticle. The cells that form your nail are located right under the cuticle so when you buff, protein and lanolin are applied to the nail, stimulating growth and flexibility. However, this is a gradual process so don’t become discouraged. Within a few months, cuticles will be improved.
  • Avoid over buffing. Buff your nails every six to seven days, buffing the new nail growth. Overuse can thin the nail due to the abrasive ingredient in the buffing creme.
  • Avoid buffing back and forth and never buff without creme. Buffing in a motion similar to shining your shoe can create too much friction and heat on the nail. Buff gently in one direction in a dipping motion or in a rolling motion, stroking the nail from one side to the top to the other side of the nail.
  • Avoid applying pressure to the tip of the nail to avoid breaking the tip.

INGREDIENTS: Silica, Water, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Sorbitol, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Allantoin, Citric Acid, Mineral Oil, Propylparaben, Fragrance, Sodium Benzoate.

CUTICLE OIL - 15ml/0.5 FL OZ

A daily routine of applying the cuticle oil lubricates this area of the nail, aiding in the prevention of cracked skin. AVOID cutting the cuticle because the cuticle grows back thicker than before, creating scar tissue. HINT: Apply the cuticle oil at night at bedtime to avoid washing the oil from the cuticle and after your weekly manicure.

Essential Products That Complete the Marcel Germaine Nail Care System

DIAMOND CRYSTAL NAIL FILE

The Diamond Crystal Nail File is included in this nail care system because of the quality of the file.

Filing Nails Properly

  • Filing nails incorrectly can cause damage to the nail: breakage, splitting, and peeling of the layers of the nail.
  • Do NOT saw at the nail; instead, place the diamond dust nail file at an angle underneath nail; start at the side of the nail the greatest distance from your body; move the file toward the center of the nail and slightly over the top; transfer the file to the other side of the nail, and once again, move the file toward the center. Make this an effortless process without applying pressure.

MICROFIBER CLEANSING CLOTH

The soft Microfiber Cleansing Cloth is a perfect addition to this nail care kit, providing several functions.

  • Place the cloth on top of a table or in your lap to protect your table or clothing during your weekly manicure.
  • After buffing your nails, use the soft Microfiber Cleansing Cloth to wash around the nails to remove the excess buffing crème.
  • After thoroughly washing the cloth with soap and water, use the cloth to remove your eye make up.
